TOPIC: Cannot edit Hot Modules

Cannot edit Hot Modules 2 years 3 months ago #4772

Hi, I am developing a site (www.onixdeco.com/sitio). I bought the Hot Furniture Store template and installed it on my server with the hot installation.

Everything works great except I cannot edit any of the Hot modules. I can't even change the images on the front page. When I try to edit the parameters of the Hot Newsflash and Hot Galery from the module manager I get an incomplete page.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the hot newsflash module but it got worse, now I don't even have the pretty images from the demo.

Any help is really appreciated!

Most likely your files and folders have no writable permission.
This is not related to joomla. To enable writing you need to use your host provider control panel or ftp application. Option is usually called CHMOD. You need to set CHMOD 777 on folders and files to make them writable.
There is extension called joomlaexplorer that can do that also.

No, that's not it. I already checked the permissions and tried changing the whole joomla installation to 777 but I still have the same problem.

Hi,

You say that you can't load module configuration page?

Have you tried to load that on different browser or different computer?

Yes and yes. I get an incomplete page an I can't edit anything (I attached a print screen). I use Firefox on Mac OS but I have tried on Safari and on Internet Explorer in Windows with the same result. Any ideas?

Perhaps your Joomla installation is incomplete. I can't be 100% sure, but when uploading HotStart files you most likely didn't upload all the files correctly. So please try again. If it doesn't work again, give us details of your server (help > system info).
