Black bar on top of banner images

Hi there - am using Hot Image Slider to slide/fade images on the banner position of my still-under-developing-website. Images slide/fade through OK except for this unwarranted long, thin BLACK BAR on TOP OF EACH IMAGE. Surely there must be a way to ELIMINATE this black bar. Any ideas? Many thanks.
