Slider Overlaps Module Beneath it

I purchased the Sportal template (love it) however instead of the "Hot Joomla Carousel Module" that is installed with the tempalte I would like to use the Slider however when I install it and enable it, it overlaps the news scroller item beneath it as well as throws the images from the other module out of whack. Can someone advise what I do to fix this?

deaveirohoopskills.com/othernewsite/index.php it is in test mode right now so the image that is there obviously isn't the right width, but you'll see the issue non the same.
