A couple of questions.
how do i change the text open / close on the top panel?

In the Main area I can't get rid of the headline (Joomla iPhone Compatible Template)

Hi,

Open file /js/slidebox.js and edit lines 38 and 39. You'll see words Open and Close there, so you can change them.

Headline is actually not from template but from Joomla. It's Title of the default menu item (usually Home). So, edit this menu item, in System tab you'll find heading. You can change it or disable it there.
