Help with creating top menu in user 3 area

Hello. I've created menus in the user 3 module area. I'm having a terrible time with trying to figure out Why my module design looks nothing like the example of this template which I bought. Any push in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

I'm using template style 2, background style 1

I must have selected the wrong option when I made my menu items. When I'm making the tabs at the top of the "architecture" template I do that through menu's correct?
