I just bought and installed the Hot Effect Rotator on my site with the belief that it could source images from a folder as stated in the usage instructions

Usage Instructions

Open module parameters in Extensions > Module Manager > HOT Effects Rotator. You'll see that some default parameters are already there. However, you should change some of them to accomodate module for usage on your site.

LOAD JQUERY: Select wheter to load jQuery library or not. If your template already loads it, you may disable this to avoid possible javascript errors.
SLIDER WIDTH: Numerical value for width of the image slider module in pixels (in example 500).
SLIDER HEIGHT: Numerical value for height of the image slider module in pixels (in example 200).
FOLDER WHERE IMAGES ARE STORED: Type folder (relative to Joomla root) where your images are stored. Don't include leading or trailing slash (in example you may enter images/stories).

but alas the only way to select the images to use is to add them individually (slowly) and then I am restricted to 9 only and then have to manage then through the module rather than just adding/changing in the folder. Is there another version of this module with the ability to do this as it was the reason that I purchased it?

Unfortunately, there is not such possibility. The reason why is that so is description that's possible for each image. Furthermore, if we allowed selection of a whole folder, and if you have too much images in it, the site will load too slowly. Up to 9 images is recommended for such type of image rotator.

it is just a little misleading is all.... doesn't work the way the description of it reads, guess I'll try the hacks that I have seen suggested for more images adn have to enter them all manually.
