Resizing grey bars across the top

I am having trouble resizing the grey bars across the top (the one that runs through the top menu and the one that runs behind the chefs). I'd like them to both stop just a tad wide of the patt_2 background. I tried adding "background-position: 800px 16px;" under .wrapper2 in the file layout.css but it doesn't seem to have any effect. I'll keep playing with it.

Well that is image about 20px x 20px repeated in bcg of wrapper2 and wrapper4. background-position doesn't have effect here. You can try to draw your new image that cover hole area by itself (no repeat).
