Hello All - I hope you are all feeling well and happy today!

I'm a joomla novice. I had hired a php programmer to upgrade my existing site from v.1.5.26 to v.2.5 with VirtuMart shopping cart and new hot-furniturestore template, but he abandoned the job part-way through and now I'm trying to do it myself.

He tried to do the upgrade keeping my existing template but it did not convert well at all, so he said. So I found the Hot_furniturestore template and he was to install it.

He said he created a subdomain in my current website and installed it in a folder called: upgrade. We had gotten to the point where I could see the new template and began adding my products in on the admin side. It seemed to be going well, except, all I could see of the template was the home page and the main category page of the store - I could not ever see my product pages. I reported this to him and he was going to look into it but never did and I could never get a hold of him again and I finally fired him.

So... then I called GoDaddy to see if they could help. They don't really do tech support for joomla, but the guy looked around and said my database was there and everything looked good except that the links were not named correctly. He said all I had to do was a simple fix in the html code and it would be fine. He couldn't help me find where to do that and I couldn't either.

Eventually I figured I should just try a fresh install, so I bought the template (again) so it would be on my own computer. I thought I could just install it in the same way the programmer had done, but it isn't working. Here are the tech details:

My website is: nanlewisjewelry. com.
He set up: upgrade. nanlewisjewelry. com.
He installed the new template into a folder called: upgrade.
So... I renamed that folder to: upgrade_V and added a new folder called: upgrade
Following the Hot Install directions, I uploaded all the files, using Filezilla, into the upgrade folder. Then, starting step 5 of the install directions, I went to start the joomla installation but there were several error messages on the page and when I tried to set the language, it just got hung up.

That's where I'm at now. Sorry this is long. I'm not sure what other info you need in order to help me.
Thanks in advance for your trouble!

Not sure why no one is replying... Did I annoy you with the long post? Sorry. Suggestions where else to go for help with this?

Thank you.
GoDaddy helped me a bit. Hopefully I can proceed with new installation. I'm closing this post.
If I get stuck again I'll post again later.
Regards,
