Params.ini unwritable

This is my first time using a new template and when I try changing colors in the template manager I get a message that says the params.ini file is unwritable and it won't accept any changes. Can someone tell me what I need to do?

Please use FTP program to change permissions of /templates/hot_furniturestore/params.ini file. Chmod file to 777 then make changes. You can chmod it back to 644 after that for security reasons.
