Updating to Joomla 2.5

A few months back I purchased the DesignNow template (1.7). I have been notified that the Joomla 2.5 update is now available.

When I purchased the 1.7 template, 2.5 was not available. How do I upgrade this template, etc. to 2.5?

My concern is that the upgrade may cause me to lose the work I have already put into customizing the template.

I changed 1.7.3 on the version 2.5 over of Joomla. The Template 1.7 functioned without problems with Joomla 2.5 look here

I as follows accomplished the update of Joomla: Version 1.7.3 to 1.7.4 and then to 2.5

I started with this template over a year ago and have done every Joomla update as they come out and have never had any issues. I do test every update on a development site before I update my production site.
I'm currently running 2.5.4

The support Hot Joomla Templates provides is great!
