Hello,

Is it possible to uppgrade Virtuemart from 1.5 to 1.7 in the Hot Start package without destroying any changed core code?

As we all know there have been serious security issues with VM 1.5 and 1.6.

Yes, you can upgrade it. Just make sure that folder /components/com_virtuemart/themes/hot_ecommerce is not changed. Also, make backup before upgrade (as always).
