err msgs HELP

I am sure this is some system setting that I have set incorrectly but triggering lots of err nsgs such as "Strict Standards: Non-static method JSite::getMenu() should not be called statically, assuming $this from incompatible context in \xampp\htdocs\hot\templates\hot_fashionstore\index.php on line 30"

Can someone plz point me in the right direction to resolve this ?

tried setting error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_STRICT in php.ini but that didn't help perhaps I need an earlier version of php running anyone know ?

this setting for php error reporting seems to work E_ALL & ~E_DEPRECATED

still getting some error msgs but not as many. Still hoping someone can enlighten me as to the real solution to this problem and explain I am getting so many errors .. is it the version of php ? I am using 5.3.8]

You have error reporting level parameter in joomla global configuration.
