Main component on start page

Hi,

I studied the main menu of the template but I cannot figure out how did you hide the main component from the start page.
On my site I have the same settings for the menu but on the front page main component appears like a white row.
Is there a trick to do that?

Main page menu item should be of type "Featured articles" and you should not have any featured article.

Yes, I saw that in the hot start installation which I did for reference.
In my site I set the main page menu to be of type "Featured articles" and I don't have any articles at all.
Maybe something is going wrong because I have a multilingual site in two languages, with double menus?
