The bottoms of the photos that I want to use on the home page look ugly on my site's interior pages. Is there some way I can change the code to define interior pics different from the home page pics?
Unfortunately, all photos in the menu must be the same on all pages. However, you can control height of the menu in template parameters for home and for inner pages.
