Insert new image in main container portion

I have inserted new image of width 980 and height 600 in main container as content_bg1.png.
But image is being repeated again inspite of giving background-repeat:no-repeat. I want to fix image in container box and the text scrolls as in the background image.Because if I am upload a image of height 1500 then it is not being repeated.But it is of very big size.

How to do this?
