Outdated Template Overrides after Joomla Update – Template Clinic (Purchased 08. was created by lg3raccoon
Dear HotJoomla Support Team,
I am using the HotJoomla template Clinic, which I purchased on October 8, 2023.
Following a recent Joomla update, I am receiving multiple warning messages in the Joomla backend (Template Manager) regarding outdated template overrides.
Warning Message: "The originals of the override files listed below have been updated. This list will help you review the changes and mark them as resolved."
The following nine affected files (which govern critical parts like article layout, menu modules, and content meta-information) require checking:
/html/com_content/article/default.php (Last updated in original file: 16.10.2025)
/html/mod_menu/default.php (Last updated in original file: 08.01.2025)
/html/layouts/joomla/content/info_block/author.php (Last updated in original file: 16.10.2025)
/html/com_content/article/default_links.php (Last updated in original file: 17.10.2024)
/html/layouts/com_menus/joomla/searchtools/default.php (Last updated in original file: 17.10.2024)
/html/layouts/joomla/content/info_block.php (Last updated in original file: 17.10.2024)
/html/layouts/joomla/content/options_default.php (Last updated in original file: 23.04.2024)
/html/layouts/joomla/content/intro_image.php
(And the previously mentioned files, if applicable)
Since I have intentionally disabled (hidden) author and date information on my articles, I suspect the overrides in my template manage this specific display and are now outdated compared to the Joomla core files.
Could you please clarify the following for me:
Is there an up-to-date version of the Clinic template that addresses these specific override changes for the latest Joomla version?
If so, do I need to re-purchase the template, or is acquiring a current support/update subscription sufficient?
Is it safe to simply mark the warning as "resolved" if the website appears to be functioning normally on the frontend, or could the underlying changes be related to security issues?
Thank you very much for your assistance.
Best regards

Hello,
Yes, it's safe to simply mark the warning as "resolved" if your website is working properly.
Your template files are old. For compatibility with Joomla 5 or 6 and disabling the Backward Compatibility plugin, you will need to purchase the template again and access the updated template and extension files.
Regards,
Milos
