Button color was created by johannes.schnell

Hello,
I'd like to set a custom color scheme. I can't find a way to change the color of the buttons an the backgroundcolor of the footer.

You mean social buttons?

In our hot start they are in images/ folder

You should edit file /templates/hot_explorer/css/template_css.css and around line 606 change color for class a.k2ReadMore, p.readmore and class a.k2ReadMore:hover, p.readmore:hover
