Unable to integrate Contact form in Hot Kindergart

I am new to joomla and unable to integrate the contact form to get mails in my gmail account. Really need step-by-step guide with screenshots (if possible).

I followed your instructions and updated till below steps and saved the changes. I did not go into open SSL modules etc as I am not savvy. I am still not getting mails in the gmail account when I send test mail from the contact form box??

Is there a way to troubleshoot online with you seeing our website, www.geniusjuniors.com ?

If you have a working Gmail account you can use Gmail as your mail server by setting it in the global configuration.

On the server tab set the following:

Mailer: SMTP
Set the next three lines with your information, leave your path untouched unless you are sure it needs to change for some reason.
SMTP Authentication: Yes
SMTP Security: SSL
SMTP Port 465
SMTP username: your gmail username
SMTP password: your gmail password
SMTP host: smtp.gmail.com

Try your parameters for outlook or any other email client. If they work there they should work on your site.

note: If you on IIS (windows server hosting) you will need latest joomla to make that work.

My website hosting is on Linux server. By the way, I did not do any open Ssl steps or any other .PHP steps. I have only done the SMTP steps as mentioned in my earlier mail. Possibly if you can send me any screen shot of what all fields need to be updated, I can verify at my end.

Question-- if I run Joomla 2.5 update from control panel , will my website go down or will the content get distorted, messed up?
