Changing Logo on Home Page

Hello HJT, I am looking for assistance to replace logo on home page. I would like to place our image logo in the approximate location of existing text logo. Could you let me know what the largest height could be for an image in that location [maximum pixels from top of page to right above top menu bar]? I want to use the largest size logo that I can here, and have it start higher up than the current text logo. I plan to use USER 4 for Joomfish language extension, but all of the rest of the top I want for large logo and business name.

I saw from playing on my local host version that when I placed my logo there, it got squashed into same space as the text logo. [ I followed instructions from thread on 'Hot Mobility' page]

* What are your recommended max pixel height for logo to fit above menu bar?
* How many pixels in width are there from left edge to where USER 4 starts?

This will give me an idea on how much space I have to work with.

I will then need assistance on how and where to change code in order to make correct space for my new logo file.

Thanks for your help - love this template.

Scott

Size of default template logo is 255px × 25px, so you should create PNG image with these dimensions, name it as "logo.png" and upload it to /templates/hot_photoportfolio/images (overwrite old).

Thanks for reply Milos. My logo will not fit in that existing space unless I make it very very small. My logo is relatively square in shape so I would like to find out how I can put a logo larger than current default logo. Can you help me with this? There is a lot of empty space on top of template and I would like to use that space for my larger logo.

thanks again for your support,

Scott

Then you should edit layout.css and decrease padding in:
Code:
.logo_pad { padding-top:95px; }
After that you can upload larger logo image.
