No. I did not receive ticket with Joomla access.

Was there ever a resolution to this problem? I am having the exact same issue.
No currency symbols are displaying on the site and store details dont save correctly after I update them.
Also when I try to add/edit product details I get a warning ("Warning: number_format() expects parameter 1 to be double, string given in \xampp\htdocs\giftshop\administrator\components\com_virtuemart\classes\currency\class_currency_display.php on line 115")
The price updates on the DB side but appears blank when I go back into it.

I have edited the virtuemart.cfg.php file as instructed.
I have also installed the furniture store and there are no problems with this.
I am running this on a Windows XP laptop with PHP v5.3.1

Any help would be appreciated,

You gave little information about your problem.
There could be many reasons for this:

- Commuter regional settings
- Database collation
- ...

Does this happen when you input for example 1 in all numeric fields in product details.
