Seems a lot of work for a template that costs money. It should work from the getgo.

I tried to install the VM currency module, will it work.........NO! Did a clean install of VM 1.1.6 (latest) but still no go.

Never had a problem with any of the other templates, just this one. I reckon some more work by the developers is needed to make sure all is working correctly.

You bought design from us not ready-made website for $20-40. There's a problem with VM on your server. You can switch to another template and you will see no difference.

If you paid installation service, we will make it work. But I do not understand what's problem with your site? VM vendor blank? Can't you add vendors?

I have had exactly these same problems. Two problems were fixed by looking at the forums: the currency not showing up and the price not saving in the back-end are BOTH due to the vendor table not being populated with default vendor data. This is obviously a known issue, since people are reporting it all over the place. This is something you guys should be diligent about reporting on your own, alongside the area where you are showing the templates, so we know what to expect when we buy it and want to install it.

The template is quite inexpensive, yes, and certainly we are paying for the design, yes.

But to tell us that we're paying for the design, and to imply that we are asking for too much when we want the packaged VM version to work correctly, is poor feedback, not to mention that it makes your customers feel like they are being treated unfairly.

Regardless of the amount we spend, we spend it thinking that it has value for what we want. I bought your design and package knowing I'll have to do a good bit of re-design work. It's what I do professionally for my company, so it's not a shock for me. But I'm not a programmer. I'm also not new at e-commerce, I've spent over $2000 in trying to find and use the right e-commerce package. What I found is that I don't just need e-commerce, as a photographer outside of my job, I need to be able to show my work, talk about my work, and sell my work all in the same site.

Your template made me feel like I had found what I was looking for. But then these very simple things are preventing me from moving forward. When the price on the back-end does not save, when the price on the back is different from the price on the front, etc., these are all issues I didn't expect.

I have been working with Joomla for over 4 years now, and it always has some problems, and VirtueMart is no different I'm sure. But considering that we are buying a template called "E-commerce," we do expect that all things should work, that your organization has done the work of making sure the everyday stuff works.

Thank you.

I'd like to add another comment.

Seems like there are about 30 issues that get solved once you UPGRADE the v.1.1.5 to v1.1.6 -- either try the VM Admin >> Check for Updates link and do a download from their site, or download the 1.1.6 update yourself and save the zip to your hardrive and then use the "Upload a Patch" tab to upload that one. (I tried auto update method, which resulted in some XML error, the second way worked for me).

Once you do that, and if you've added a default vendor (you might have to add a new vendor and vendor attributes through manual INSERT to the vm_vendor table if the backend admin doesn't want to save your data), then the pricing issues should be resolved.

Your mileage may vary, but this worked for me. I'm no expert, I just banged my head against every forum post I could find and tried some things on my own.

Honestly, though, it would really help if HOTJOOMLATEMPATES would bake all this into their install.

Good luck everyone!

Hi guys,

Please understand, Virtue Mart is not our product. Joomla is not our product as well. We can't guarantee that they are free of errors.

Actually, we have used VirtueMart for this site and discontinued to use it in on September because of many bugs and problems we encountered with it. However, we still think that VirtueMart is the best e-commerce component for Joomla and we will continue designing templates for it.

We are using Joomla and VirtueMart as platforms for our templates. We are NOT selling Joomla or VirtueMart to our customers nor we have rights to do that. HotStart files that many of our clients are using are just SUPPORTING files to help you install things faster.

But you can always install Joomla, template and extensions separately.

I can confirm, I have installed Furniture Store HotStart successfully four times:

- on my local Mac with MAMP
- on my local PC with XAMPP
- on my hosting based on cPanel
- on my hosting based on Plesk
