front page only after install

Hi Chris,

If you are entering links like www.greatorexfinearts.com/public_html/index.php this means that you don't know much (anything?) about servers... :)

So the link should be www.greatorexfinearts.com/index.php

if you go to

www.greatorexfinearts.com/index.php

you do not get the start installation page, please click to see all you get is the removal installation directory page

This means that it's already installed. If you remove /installation folder, you should see the site. If you remove configuration.php file, the installer will run again.

ok, I have resolved the problem:

public_html folder had iincorrect permissions, I have now corrected this (should be chmod 750, was 755).

I then did a complete reinstall of joomla and the hotstart gallery and all is fine

I had to delete the conguration.php file to get the installation running correctly.

btw I do have knowledge of servers and dreamweaver but this was 4 years ago and CMS is new to me.

So the root cause was permissions

ps if this happens to others then it may be a good idea to get them to check permissions first as this will save a lot of pain

Just install module using .zip file you downloaded from us.
Extensions->Install/Uninstall, then use "Upload Package File" .
