VII FAQs
Why Sparky Page Builder is better than built-in Joomla editor?
Sparky Page Builder lets you create a layout for your page quickly, move elements, duplicate elements, edit elements quickly and visually, and more. Imagine how complex it will be to create a simple page layout with 2 columns in TinyMCE or CodeMirror? Or to add the third column? Or to move the content from the first column to the second column? How about duplicating an image and quickly select a new image? And, so on...
These are just basic examples where page builder is superior against the built-in Joomla editor. In creating complex pages or making edits to existing ones, the advantages are even more significant.
Can I use Sparky Page Builder with any Joomla template?
Yes, you can!
Should I install Sparky Page Builder for templates that are created with Sparky Framework?
If you downloaded a template that's powered by Sparky Page Builder (its demo content is created with it), and if you installed this template with demo data (HotStart installation), then you don't need to install the Sparky Page Builder package because it's included in the HotStart package. For example, the Hot Quattro is the first of such templates. There will be more Joomla templates powered by Sparky Page Builder in the future.
However, if you want to use a template that's not powered by Sparky Page Builder (its demo content is NOT created with it), then you will need to install the page builder plugins package separately. That's also true for our templates based on the Sparky Framework (Joomla template framework).
Can I use Sparky Page Builder to edit pages not created with it?
Sparky Page Builder "converts" a page HTML into a JavaScript object that can be manipulated. In order to create such an object, the HTML must be in a specific format that our page builder will recognize. Therefore, in Sparky Page Builder it's not possible to edit pages that are not created with it.
What if I decide to stop using Sparky Page Builder?
All content created with the Sparky Page Builder in Joomla articles, custom modules, product pages, etc, is a valid HTML. You can also edit it with other HTML editors (such as TinyMCE or CodeMirror that are included in Joomla).
