Sparky Framework v4.0

Screenshots are from Sparky Framework v4.0 and Joomla 4.0.

We are happy to announce that we released two new versions of our Sparky Framework for both Joomla 3.x and Joomla 4.0. Both versions have the same features. However, because of significant changes in Joomla 4.0 compared to the older Joomla 3.x, we concluded it's better to have two versions of the Sparky Framework.

Sparky Framework v2.8 (and later versions) is for Joomla 3.x.

Sparky Framework v4.0 (and later versions) is for Joomla 4.0.

Both versions have the same features but they look slightly different. For example, the backend of Joomla 3.x is powered by a very old Bootstrap v2 (from 2012). New Joomla 4.0 is powered by new modern Bootstrap v5.

If you know how to work in Sparky v2, you will also know Sparky v4. However, we have slightly updated the Sparky documentation mostly because the way you are accessing Sparky and its plugins from the Joomla administrator interface is slightly different in the new Joomla version.

New Features

Style Variants

The most important new feature is related to template colors. Now, you can select up to 6 template colors and they will be available for easy selection in all color pickers throughout the Sparky Framework settings. Furthermore, if you change a template color, all color fields that have this color will be automatically updated with the new color. We believe this feature will save you a lot of time if you decide to change the color of your website because you can change it in a single place now.

Color picker

It's also possible to create a combination of colors - color palettes. You can keep up to 5 different color palettes for your website and switch between them easily.

New Sparky also supports RTL (right-to-left) languages better. We added default value to all text alignment options. If it's selected and if the LTR language is detected in Joomla, the text will be aligned left. If RTL language is detected, the text will be aligned right.
