XI Export
To access Sparky’s template options and open the Export tab, do the following:
- Login to your Joomla Administration panel.
- Go to Extensions > Templates > sparky_framework > Export (Joomla 3.x) or System > Templates > Site Template Styles > sparky_framework > Export (Joomla 4.x).
The Sparky Framework allows you to export all Sparky’s template files and settings into a single, installable child Joomla template, packed as ZIP archive. You can keep this file as a backup of your work.
Also, you can use this file to install Sparky’s template with all settings in another Joomla site. However, it's required to install the main Sparky package on this site first. The Sparky Framework is a parent Joomla template. The templates you create using the export function are child Joomla template. A child Joomla template can't work without its parent template. Also, the Sparky Framework package contains some plugins that are required.
The Export tab contains only one parameter: Name of exported template. The default name of Sparky’s template is “sparky_framework”, but you can enter a different name here. The name must not contain spaces and special characters.
When you enter a name and click the Export button, a ZIP archive with the given name will be created in this folder:
/media/templates/site/sparky_framework/export
Use your FTP client to download the exported child template from this folder.
Note that next time you are making an export, if you use the same name, your old ZIP archive with your old export will be overwritten.
Note that if you update the Sparky Framework, your exported ZIP archives will stay intact in the export folder.
