To activate the Classic Menu type, open the Menus tab, click on your menu and select Classic Menu option from the selector. Many new parameters will become available now.
As its name suggests, this is a simple menu that shows menu items in the unordered list, without any interactive features.
Show Menu Name parameter allows you to include menu name above the menu items.
Menu Orientation parameter defines whether the menu items will be stacked up vertically or horizontally:
- The vertical option is suitable if your menu is a part of the side column of your site.
- The horizontal option is useful if you want to include some menu items in the footer area (near the copyright text). This option is not good if you have menu items with children (multiple levels of menu items).
Main Level
These parameters will be applied only to the menu items from the first level (parent menu items).
Font Settings, Font Size, Text Align, Link color and Link Hover Color parameters works the same way as those we explained in the Style section. Please read this section for more details.
Vertical Padding and Horizontal Padding parameters allows you to add some space around each menu item.
Bottom Margin parameter allows you to make some space between your menu items.
Sub-levels
These parameters will be applied only to the menu items from the second and deeper levels (children menu items).
Font Settings, Font Size, Text Align, Link color and Link Hover Color parameters works the same way as those we explained in the Style section. Please read this section for more details.
Margin parameter adds some spacing around the container where children menu items are placed.
Menu Item Height parameter defines the height of children menu items.
