user profile

If you are an experienced Joomla user, you probably developed many Joomla sites that have user accounts management. You know what I mean... Registration form, login module, pages visible only for registered members and things like that. We all know that Joomla 1.6 (and later) comes with advanced (and very complex) access control. But, how to achieve this simple task of customizing the registration form?

joomla template styles

Joomla 1.6 and later versions (like current 1.7) brought many improvement in Joomla's templating system. One of them is ability to have several styles (variants) of one template. For templates that comes without parameters or with just few of them, it's not important. However, for Joomla templates that count many parameters, it could be a nice feature.

joomla rtl support

We have upgraded all our Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.7 templates and added a new feature - RTL (Right-to-Left) text support. If writing starts from the right side of the page, and continues to the left, then we can call this language RTL language. Languages that use this system are based on Arabic alphabet (Arabic, Persian...), Hebrew alphabet (Hebrew, Yiddish...), and many more.

Joomla 1.6 has reached its end of life and would not be supported any more by Joomla developers team. What does it means? It means that, even there are some security problems found in the latest version of Joomla 1.6, the fixes would not be made and published.

Joomla users with fair knowledge of HTML know that Joomla editors (such as TinyMCE) sometimes can cut off a part(s) of their HTML code. How to fix this? There are different solutions for Joomla 1.5 and newer Joomla 1.6 and 1.7.

Few days ago, Microsoft released the final version of Internet Explorer 9 (IE9). We tested our templates and extensions with it and noted errors in 12 templates and Effects Rotator, Carousel and Carousel Pro extensions. The most common issue was incompatibility with older versions of jQuery. As soon as we updated it to the latest version 1.5, the problems were solved. In addition, we used CSSPie on some templates to make IE compatible with some CSS3 techniques, such as rounded borders and gradients. That caused problems in new IE9 that we had to solve.

This tutorial will explain you how to import complete Joomla database from one site to another, using SQL dump file and phpMyAdmin software installed on your server. This is useful if you need to duplicate existing Joomla site. It will save you a lot of work.
